Add time budgets to Tasks

The next step in our development roadmap has introduced the ability to add time budgets to tasks. This will allow for much more detailed management of your time allocations.

Of course, you can also continue to use only the project stage budgets as we want everyone to manage their projects the best way for them!

In addition to this, we've added a new stage type for Non-billable stages. This is especially helpful when it comes time to invoice for your work, as the system will automatically recognise what time cannot be billed.

Budgets on tasks allow for more detailed time management

To add budgets to your tasks, you must first turn the feature on in the admin settings. You'll find the toggle under the Budget Setting tab.

Once toggled on, the Manage Budget function within your project work space will allow you to assign budgets to tasks.

Next, you can distribute your stage budget across your various tasks. You'll be alerted if the amount you are trying to allocate to your task is higher than your total state budget. Tasks billing type must be the same as the stage billing type except when marking a task as Non-billable.

When entering your next timesheet, you'll see tasks available to select from for new entries, regardless of whether they have budgets assigned to them. Assigning individual budgets and entering time against tasks rather than stages will allow for a much more granular management level.
